How to update the Filed Prowork Chrome extension

Use these steps when a customer needs to update the Filed Prowork Chrome extension before reconnecting an integration such as TaxDome.

When to use this

Follow this process after Filed releases a Chrome extension fix and the customer needs to pull the latest version before reconnecting an integration.

Update the Filed Prowork extension in Chrome

  1. Open a new Chrome tab and go to chrome://extensions.

  2. Turn on Developer mode using the toggle in the top-right corner.

  3. Click the Update button near the top-left to immediately pull the latest version.

  4. Confirm that the Filed Prowork extension shows the expected version, for example 0.1.7 or newer.

Reconnect the integration after updating

  1. Make sure the customer is signed in to the third-party app in the same Chrome browser. For TaxDome, open their TaxDome portal, such as portal.firmname.com, and confirm they are logged in.

  2. Return to the Filed Web App.

  3. Go to the Plugins or Integrations section.

  4. Click Reconnect on the relevant integration.

Notes for Connection Process

  • If a firm uses a custom TaxDome portal domain, verify that the domain actually loads TaxDome before attempting to connect.

  • The firm user must be logged in to the third-party app in the same Chrome browser where the Filed Prowork extension is installed.
