Credits, seats, trials, and billing FAQ
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Filed billing and usage depend on your firm’s current contract and product setup. This article explains the most common questions our team receives.
Credits
Credits apply only to older customer agreements. Most customers no longer use credits. If your workspace does not show credits, that is expected for most current customers.
If your firm is on an older credit-based agreement, your Filed account team can confirm how credits apply to your workspace.
Seats and users
Access is generally managed at the workspace level by your firm’s admins. If a teammate cannot access Filed, an admin should confirm that the teammate has been invited to the correct workspace and has the right role.
Pilots & Trials
If your firm is evaluating Filed, trial access and limits may differ from a production contract. Contact your Filed team if you are unsure what is included in your trial.
When usage may be counted
Usage is typically tied to the workflows enabled for your firm, such as AI Tax Prep or AI Review. If a return is re-run or reviewed again, confirm with your Filed team how your contract handles that scenario.
Re-running prep or review
Because contracts differ, do not assume that a rerun has the same billing or usage treatment for every workspace. If you are unsure whether a rerun, resend, or additional review affects usage, contact your Filed account team before rerunning the workflow.
Why billing may look different between customers
Filed has different agreement types depending on when and how a customer purchased Filed. Older customers may see credit-related language, while most current customers will not.
Questions about your invoice or plan
For plan-specific billing questions, contact your Filed account team. Include your workspace name and the return or workflow you are asking about if the question is usage-related.
