Requesting a Filed sandbox workspace for API testing
Last updated: October 1, 2026
If your firm needs a separate Filed workspace to test API connectivity, contact your Filed representative or Support to request one. Workspace creation is currently managed by Filed rather than available through self-service signup.
What to provide in your request
Firm name and primary administrator’s name and email address
The name and email of any IT team members testing Filed
The integration or API workflow you plan to test
Your expected testing timeline
Any network, security, or access requirements from your IT team
What happens next
Filed creates the workspace and adds the primary user.
The primary user signs in and can invite the appropriate colleagues from the firm.
Your IT team completes connectivity testing using the credentials and access details provided for the integration.
Common setup blockers
Missing credentials: Some tax-software integrations require vendor-issued API keys, application IDs, or approval before access is enabled.
Licensing: An administrator or integration user may need an appropriate license from the tax-software provider.
Permissions: Installing or configuring integration components may require local or server administrator rights.
Network controls: Firewall, VPN, antivirus, allowlist, or terminal-server policies can prevent connectivity until IT approves the required access.
Test data: Your team may need suitable non-production data and credentials before validating the workflow.
Need help?
If setup is blocked, send Support the integration name, the step that is failing, and any error message or screenshot. We’ll help identify whether the issue is related to workspace access, vendor credentials, permissions, or network configuration.
