Should I upload K-1s to Filed if they are already imported directly in CCH Axcess?

Last updated: April 7, 2026

If your K-1s have already been imported directly into CCH Axcess through the import functionality when preparing the business return, you do not need to upload them again through Filed. Doing so may result in Filed attempting to re-enter data that already exists in your tax software.

Here are two easy ways to avoid duplicate data entry for K-1s:

Option 1: Exclude the K-1s in Filed

If the K-1 PDFs have already been uploaded to Filed as part of your source documents, you can prevent Filed from processing them by excluding them before running Tax Prep.

Steps:

  1. Within the AI Tax Prep workflow, navigate to the Forms view.

  2. Locate the K-1s you want to exclude.

  3. Click Exclude on those K-1 forms.

  4. Proceed with running Tax Prep as normal — Filed will skip those forms during data entry.

Option 2: Simply Don't Upload the K-1s

The simplest approach is to just not include the K-1 PDFs when uploading your source documents to Filed. If Filed never receives the K-1 files, it will not attempt to process or enter them.

What If Filed Is Flagging a Missing K-1 in the Checklist?

If Filed flags a missing K-1 in the Checklist section, there is no need to worry. Since the K-1 has already been handled directly in CCH Axcess, you have two options to clear the notification:

  • Ignore it — the checklist flag will not affect Tax Prep or data entry.

  • Mark it as reviewed — click the reviewed option in the Checklist section to dismiss the notification and keep your checklist clean.
