Does Filed need an admin user or master admin access to UltraTax CS?

No. Filed does not require the end user to create a separate user, admin user, or master admin account for Filed in UltraTax CS.

Does Filed use the end user’s UltraTax CS credentials?

No. Filed does not use the end user’s credentials to access UltraTax CS tax return data or the UltraTax CS software.

How does the UltraTax CS integration work?

The integration works through the Filed ProWork desktop app. The user downloads and installs the Filed ProWork desktop app in the same environment where they already use UltraTax CS today.

What is installed on each computer?

The user installs the Filed ProWork desktop app on the computer or environment that has access to the UltraTax CS data location. This app is what allows Filed to connect to UltraTax CS data for the AI prep workflow.

As a best practice, each user should download and install the Filed ProWork desktop app so they have their own unique connection and do not need to rely on another user’s connection.

How does Filed access UltraTax CS data?

After the Filed ProWork desktop app is installed, Filed connects to the correct folder path where the UltraTax CS client data is stored. This data location includes the UltraTax CS client data, such as client IDs and related client files.

What data does Filed read or write?

Filed reads from and writes back to UltraTax CS through the configured data folder path during the AI prep process. This enables Filed to access the relevant UltraTax CS client data and return prepared data back to UltraTax CS without needing user credentials.

Do users need to give Filed their UltraTax CS login credentials?

No. Users do not need to provide Filed with their UltraTax CS login credentials. The connection is made through the Filed ProWork desktop app and the configured UltraTax CS data folder path in the user’s existing UltraTax CS environment.
